STAFF made a splash at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre last Friday - swimming a distance equal to the English Channel.
A team of employees tackled 1320 lengths of the pool (equivalent to the 21 miles between Dover and France).
The fundraiser was organised for this year’s Children in Need appeal.
Money is still coming in but staff hope that their efforts will raise more than £5000 for the charity.
Dr Chris Stockdale, a Solihull man who has swam the Channel in the past, and Andrew Garfield, a Gold medallist at the Special Olympics, were among those taking part.
While the novices only tackled a couple of lengths, their more experienced colleagues completed well over 100.
Some brave souls took the plunge in costume - with Superman, Pudsey and a smurf among the characters assembled at the pool side.
