SHE may be just 17-years-old but champion kick-boxer Stevie Pitt is set to take on the big boys by teaching a class of her own.
The Solihull College student is a black belt and a Midlands Area Champion in the tough sport meaning she is licenced to pass on her skills. She is also in training for a British title .
A member of Aero-Kick Kickboxing Club in Hockley, run by Colin ‘Solid’ Treasure, Stevie new class started on Monday February 22 at St Leonard’s Primary School in Marston Green.
Stevie from Wavers Marston said: “As far as I know I am one of the youngest to teach a class. I’ve got my experience so I know what I am doing. My family have been really supportive and my mum said she can’t wait to come down to the class.”
The teenager very nearly didn’t reach such dizzy heights as she originally hankered after guitar lessons!
“I wanted to do guitar first of all but then I saw kickboxing lessons so my mum took me to those.”
Stevie lives with mum Samantha, Dad Darren and older sister Terri,19, but none have taken up her chosen sport. “My sister said she would come along and take some classes but they are all very proud.”
Stevie’s classes run every Monday from 6pm til 7.15pm.
The first class costs just one pound with subsequent classes at £5.
