WEST Midlands Golf Club is providing free lessons to newcomers and beginners of all ages tomorrow to mark the start of a new initiative across the country.Warwickshire is looking to promote grassroots golf and are urging as many novices to visit the course and learn more about the game.
A team of qualified PGA professionals will be on hand to provide hints and tips to adults and children attending and equipment will be available to all.
The picturesque course in Barston is providing access to all its practice facilities, which includes a pitching and practice putting area.
They will also be supplying 'tri-golf' and 'golf extreme' equipment for children and adults, so there's no excuse for everyone in the family not to give it a go.John Stubbings, chairman of the Warwickshire County Golf Partnership said that golf is a family game and that more people should be playing the sport.
"There aren't many sports where mum, dad and the children can spend a couple of hours together, enjoying the fresh air and getting some exercise - and there's nothing to stop grandparents, aunts and uncles joining in either."
