RAY Delanty rolled back the years when he turned out to play water polo for Warwick at the tender age of 80.
The Midland League match between Warwick B and rivals Handsworth was billed as a testimonial for Solihull-based Ray, who has been playing water polo since 1946.
Ray kicked off his career competing in the Birmingham League for Sparkhill, but has been a member of Warwick ever since the club was formed.
Over the years, Ray has represented many clubs, including the police, winning plenty of titles during his time in the water.
So it was fitting that Ray should play a part against Handsworth, coming on in the second half and scoring with a delicate lob as Warwick went on to win 8-6.
