LEAFY Alderbrook Road has been named the most expensive street in the Midlands.
With its spacious homes and gardens, it’s bound to catch the eye of house-hunters. But with the average house costing £850,000, there’s unlikely to be many first-time buyers.
If the average earner (on £23,244,) put every penny of their salary towards the property it would still take them over 35 years to buy it
New figures show that four of the top five most expensive addresses in the region are in Solihull, according to postcode figures collated by the Land Registry.
Temple Road, in Dorridge, is in second-place - where the average home would set you back £798,000.
Coming in fourth and fifth on the list are Park Avenue (£781,000) and Widney Manor Road (£735,000).
Hintlesham Avenue, in Edgbaston, is Birmingham’s only entry in the top-ten.
If you think these abodes are out of your range, they pale into insignificance compared to the most expensive in the UK. Top of the list is Parkside, in Merton - near Wimbledon’s famous tennis club - where the average home is in excess of £5m.
