Media students from the City Technology College, in Kingshurst, have been putting their creative skills to the test and have made a DVD focusing on the regeneration of the north of Solihull.
The novel idea came about after teacher Clive Adams was approached by an artist and staff from Solihull Council.
The DVD was screened to an audience of 60 people on November 10, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Solihull and was the handiwork of seven teenagers enrolled on the Post 16 OCR Extended National Diploma in Media.
North Solihull, which includes Kingshurst, Fordbridge, Chelmsley Wood and Smith's Wood, is currently undergoing transformation as part of a 15 year £1.8 billion project spearheaded by Solihull Council with new primary schools and houses being built along with new facilities for recreation and community pursuits.
The DVD involved youngsters talking to schoolchildren from the region and getting their views about what they would like their new school premises to look like.
