With the summer holidays in full swing, Mell Square invited children and parents alike to go green for Green Day yesterday, Thursday in the second of a series of specially colour themed summer fun events.

Green Day saw the Square go green with exciting appearances from Chester the Amazing who entertained adults and children with fun and magic while Animal Antics showcased their collection of wiggly creatures including millipedes, snakes and spiders.

Next up is White Day which will welcome the arrival of the first ever Helter Skelter in Mell Square where children can enjoy spiralling from top to bottom as many times as they like.

There will also be a magical appearance from Gandalf the Great, party hair and face painting from Snip Snap, ceramic painting and, if that isn’t enough, there will be storytelling sessions running throughout the day, guaranteed to get the little ones’ imaginations running wild.

Children can come dressed in the colour white for the day and enjoy the transformation of Mell Square into a white wonderland.

Paul Round, centre manager at Mell Square shopping centre said: “We were delighted to build on the success of Red day and welcome everyone to go green on the second of our family fun days.

“Whether you are looking for entertainment, creative activities, or to meet some brilliant characters during the summer holiday, then pop down to Mell Square and join in the fun.”

For the next three Thursdays the Square will be packed with children’s activities, exciting rides, family entertainment and great offers from the stores.
