In the swing to raise funds

AN exciting charity golf day has been organised to help raise funds for the Joseph Foote Foundation.

AN exciting charity golf day has been organised to help raise funds for the Joseph Foote Foundation.

The Forest of Arden Golf Club will play host to the 1st Annual Charity golf day in October, and teetimes are rapidly been snapped up for the eventful day at Solihull's most respected golf club.

The day will include coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes on the Championship Arden Course, a three-course dinner, a golf trick show, raffles, prizes and an amazing auction.

A strokesaver and a driving range token are also included and there will also be nearest to the pin and longest drive competitions.

A Scotty Cameron Limited Edition putter, a Darren Clarke signed picture and hat, and a four-ball at Little Aston Golf Club are just some of the fantastic items that will go up for auction.

All money raised on Wednesday October 22 will go towards the foundation which was set up in 2000 in order to support and run a cancer research programme at Nottingham University.

Joseph, aged 9, passed away last year after a seven-year battle with a rare ependymoma malignant brain tumour which was removed unsuccessfully six times.

The Joseph Foote Fundraising Ball raised £1.2million in May.

Many of Birmingham's business elite turned up for entertainment including Britain's Got Talent finalists Escala.

Auction prizes included a weekend on a 150ft yacht for the Monaco Grand Prix and a brand New Mini.

The cost of the full Arden Masters Package is just £180, however for non-golfers the evening package is only £45.

So if you fancy treading in the footsteps of golf's giants who have played on the Championship Arden Course, or are interested in sponsoring a hole call Tony Hoare on 07776177594 to receive more information.
