JOHNSONS Coach & Bus have recently launched a new bus service between Birmingham and Stratford Upon Avon.
The X20 service runs along the A34 Stratford Road - passing through Hall Green, Shirley and Hockley Heath.
The route is already very busy and Johnsons, based in Henley-in-Arden, have bought three, new double deckers to keep up with demand.
These new vehicles will operate solely on the new route and they complete an investment programme of just under £1m.
And transport enthusiasts may be familiar with the X20’s path - it is identical to a route which the company ran in the 1920s (when the business first started taking fare paying passengers).
Pete Johnson, operations director: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded this important route which provides a vital link for residents between Birmingham and Stratford.
We made the decision to invest in new double deckers to offer both a more comfortable service and to encourage passengers to use it in the knowledge that more seats will be available.”
Now in its centenary year, Johnsons runs many routes through the area.
The X20 operates seven days a week. The full timetable is available from local libraries, tourist information centres or online at www.johnsoncoaches.co.uk
