AN ELEVEN-year-old girl has been named as the youngest ever Solihull Musician of the Year.
Adelaide Yue wowed the judges at Saturday night’s final and was presented with her trophy by the Mayor of Solihull.
The pianist beat off stiff competition in the opening rounds to book her place in the grand final - taking place at Alderbrook School.
And in the final round it was something of a family affair, with Adelaide’s younger brother Daniel finishing as the runner-up.
While his sister prefers to tickle the ivories, the nine-year-old is an avid violinist. Earlier in the day, the Dorridge siblings had performed a duet together and later had to compete for the title of Solihull Musician of the Years.
Mum Nicole said that her daughter was no stranger to competitions and would be travelling down to London to compete in an event next spring
Organisers were very pleased with the standard of musicians and said that there had been a record number of entries this year.
The concert is one of the annual highlights of the Solihull Festival - which finishes on Sunday. More than 150 musicians entered the contest and proceeds from the event will go to local good causes.
