I WAS dismayed, but not surprised, to read Mr Dale's letter last week - 'What A State'.
Policing and law enforcement generally seems to be completely arbitrary these days with our target-driven forces seeking out those offenders where an arrest or prosecution is more certain and a 'result' obtained.
I can't really blame them for avoiding potential violent responses, but they do seem to adhere to the target-driven agendas rather than respond to more immediate instances of offences or anti-social behaviour.
It is time to tackle the really unpleasant culprits of multiple offences who cause so much dis-tress to 'decent' residents.
My own support of speed cameras is partially due to the fact they are totally impartial and do not distinguish between the 'respectable' speeder and the hooded 'chav' with the threatening gang of mates!
