The 17-year-old noticed two men following him in Cooks Lane at around 2am on Sunday August 7 shortly after he had walked his girlfriend home to Sheldon.

As he turned into Chester Road the thugs attacked - punching and kicking him to the ground and taking his Vodafone 845 mobile.

One of the robbers, who is thought to be in his late teens, was riding a small, red BMX-style bike.

Solihull Police PC Chris Burt, said: “The victim was followed along Cooks Lane near to the BP garage and left into Chester Road where he was attacked near the bus stop on the opposite side of the grassy area to Birkbeck House.

“He was punched in the face and repeatedly kicked whilst on the floor. We believe both offenders are from the local area.”

The cycling suspect is said to be 17-19 years old, slim build with short dark hair. He spoke with a local accent.

His accomplice is believed to be around the same age, skinny build with short fair hair; he was wearing a black Nike tracksuit made of shiny material with a white tick on the left side of the chest.
