The 17-year-old was seriously injured in the collision, involving a car and a lorry, on Bosworth Drive.

Emergency services had been called to the scene at just before 9.30am last Wednesday. Paramedics found that two of the people in the car – the teenager and a man in his 20s – had suffered serious injuries.

Two other passengers had also been hurt in the smash. The lorry driver escaped the collision unscathed.

Police had closed the road between Moorend Avenue and Chapelhouse Road while investigations were carried out. Officers are still looking into the cause of last week’s crash. Anyone who saw what happened should call 0845 113 5000.
