A TEENAGER caught growing 11 cannabis plants claimed it was to feed his £20-a-day drugs habit.
Police visited the Woodlands Way home of Mitchell Ricketts, in Chelmsley Wood, on June 6 where they found the plants and ‘usual drug growing paraphernalia’, Solihull Magistrates Court heard.
The 18-year-old admitted producing the Class B drug but claimed in police interview it had only been for his own personal use.
Eleanor Thomas, defending, said it has simply been cheaper for her client to buy in bulk.
“It was all for personal use.”
The case was adjourned until November 16 for reports.
