HUNDREDS of people turned out for celebrations at a Hall Green temple.
A three-day event was held at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir to mark Shrãvan - the holiest month in the Hindu calendar.
Despite damp and windy conditions, scores of people turned out to take part in the festivities, which finished last Sunday (August 2).
Vasant Parikh, the mandir’s lead co-ordinator, said “Our aim for the event was to bring people together while helping the community, and I’m delighted that so many people attended and enjoyed the celebrations.”
This year, the theme was achieving goals and the organisers geared the celebration towards the many problems caused by recession.
But as well as debates, there was the chance to enjoy music and traditional vegetarian food.
