A THIEF, who caused over a £100 worth of damage to a student’s car, got away with a meagre £3.
Ben Greenland, from Solihull, had parked up outside Tudor Grange Leisure Centre on Monday this week to go to work at 2pm.
But the 19-year-old’s heart sank when that evening, it was announced a Vauxhall Corsa had been broken into.
“Someone came into report that a car window had been smashed, and unfortunately, I realised it was mine,” said the criminology student, currently studying at Chester University.
“This is the first time I’ve ever had anything like this happen to me,” he added.
The thief got away with just a handful of coins but Ben was left with a £108 bill to fix his broken window.
Police say they believe the the theft happened between 2.30pm and 8.45pm.
