A SWEET toothed thief stole £40 worth of chocolates from an airport shop.

Mark McKevitt appeared at Solihull Magistrates Court on Monday after he was arrested on July 21 for stealing the chocs from WH Smiths at Birmingham Airport.

The 26-year-old, of Circus Avenue, Chelmsley Wood, pleaded guilty to theft and breaching a previous community order.

The bench heard McKevitt had trouble with drugs and had gone to the shop to steal.

He was given a four week suspended prison sentence for the theft and four weeks for the community order breach, to run concurrently, and ordered to pay £40 costs.
