A PROLIFIC shoplifter has been banned from entering Chelmsley Wood and Stratford Road, Shirley after committing 50 theft offences.

Matthew Cavill was issued with a Criminal Anti Social Behaviour Order after a string of offences.

The 27-year-old has also been banned from entering any retail premises in the West Midlands with any bladed, sharp or cutting article.

Cavill’s Crasbo won’t expire until February 18 2011.

Sgt Julian Powell, from the Offender Management Team said the Crasbo was proof that the police are making a difference when working in partnership with communities.

“We are successfully putting a stop to unacceptable behaviour by a small minority in the community who persist in causing problems for law-abiding citizens.

“Cavill is now suffering because of the consequences of his own anti social behaviour. If others behave in the same way, let us work together to stop them and make a safer and happier neighbourhood for our children and ourselves.”

Police say that if anyone sees Cavill or others in their community acting in an anti social manner, to call them on 0845 113 5000 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
