A THIEF who stole alcohol from a Shirley store has been given a conditional discharge.
Kelly Toolan, 36, stole spirits from the Co-op store on August 10 and bottles of wine from the same store on September 9.
Solihull Magistrates Court heard on Monday that Toolan, of Druids Heath Birmingham, selected the items from the store, concealed them in a bag and left the shop without paying.
Her solicitor, Anthony Carter, said the charges pre date the time Toolan, a former heroin addict, spent in prison for other offences.
Mr Carter said his client has since been taking steps to turn her life around since she was released from prison.
Toolan was given a 12 month conditional discharge and told to pay £45 compensation.
