‘Thieves could cost me my job’

A LAPWORTH mum has said that she’s been left stranded after thieves stole the family car.

A LAPWORTH mum has said that she’s been left stranded after thieves stole the family car.

Ruth Carrie, aged 47, was furious when someone drove off with her Ford Fiesta, from Conway Close, Shirley.

The mum-of-two relies on the vehicle to get to work and see her children.

This week she said that thieves don’t realise, or care, about the problems that car crime causes.

“Crimes like this aren’t seen as serious incidents, but they have consequences for the owner,” she said.

“I really do not know how I will be able to get to work and this puts me at risk of losing my job.”

Stolen on November 8, at around 10pm, the car was caught on camera travelling down the Stratford Road and M42.

Although the car is 17-years-old and has none of the mod-cons which usually attract thieves, it has not been recovered.

Anyone with information should call West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000.
