Thieves have stolen top-of-the-range children’s bikes from a lock-up in Tudor Grange Park.
The 12 bikes - worth around £500 each - were taken from the building sometime on Sunday night.
Solihull Cycling Club, who use them to train up youngsters, discovered the break-in next morning.
Spokesman Ray Bachelor said that the club was insured, but it would take time to get replacements.
“It’s so frustrating. It will be a terrible shock for the children who will miss their training,” he said.
“A lot of them are competing on national circuits, but they won’t be able to take part until they’ve got other bikes.”
The thieves broke through metal shutters to get inside the building, which backs onto the golf course.
They also made-off with spare pedals and other cycling equipment.
Mr Bachelor said that most of the junior-racing bikes were quite distinctive, because they had a second set of brakes.
