Thomson cancels flights to flu-hit Mexico

AIRLINE operator Thomson cancelled all outbound flights from Birmingham International Airport to Cancun in Mexico yesterday following concerns over the potentially deadly swine flu outbreak in the country.

AIRLINE operator Thomson cancelled all outbound flights from Birmingham International Airport to Cancun in Mexico yesterday following concerns over the potentially deadly swine flu outbreak in the country.

Thomson operate one weekly flight on a Thursday to the destination and travellers are now being urged to contact the holiday company for further information.

The airline took the decision after taking advice from the Foreign Office. Holidaymakers and travellers who are currently in Cancun will return to the UK on their booked flights.

Customers who were due to travel to Cancun from 28 April to May 8 will have the option to make a free amendment to their holiday and select a different destination.
