Staff and management at Solihull NHS Care Trust have been awarded a 3 star “excellent” rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the home care services provided in and around the south and central areas of Solihull.
Following inspections in November 2009, the CQC, whose scoring system allows people to compare care providers, awarded a rating of “excellent” to the care delivered to people in their own homes by staff working from the NHS bases of Green Hill Way and Brookvale.
The CQC’s inspection takes into consideration the quality of user focussed care in terms of:
* Having the right outcomes (including clinical outcomes)
* Providing a good experience for the folk who use it
* Taking care to help prevent illness, promoting healthy and independent living
* Making the service available to those who need it.
Dana Broad, care co-ordinator and Denice Oakley service manager for Solihull NHS Care Trust Community Services, said: “It’s great to see hard work recognised; all the staff are over the moon about it!”
