A VILLAGE shopkeeper was left bruised and suffering from shock after being attacked by two teenage thugs during a distraction robbery.
One of the youths who entered the shop in High Street, Hampton-in-Arden, asked 54-year-old Tina O'Mahoney whether she sold cooking apples and kept her talking while his companion rushed behind the counter and grabbed about £200.
When she tried to stop him she was pushed aside roughly, and the two thieves ran away with the cash. The attack took place at about 3pm last Friday, November 14, and West Midlands Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The youths are described as white and aged 17 to 19. One was about 5ft tall, slightly built, with dark brown hair and was wearing a blue and white jacket.
The other was taller, about 5ft 8in, more stockily built, with light brown hair and wore a grey jacket.
Anyone who thinks they can help detectives investigating the robbery is asked to telephone 0845 113 5000 and ask to speak to Solihull police.
