Time running out to claim lost property

A TREASURE trove of jewellery is being kept by Solihull police - but time is running out for owners to claim their valuables.

A TREASURE trove of jewellery is being kept by Solihull police - but time is running out for owners to claim their valuables.

In recent weeks, several items, including a wedding ring, watches and a pendant have been handed in.

Sue Allen, Solihull’s lost property officer, warned that the owners only have six weeks to reclaim the items.

After that, they will be auctioned off or returned to the person who originally handed them in.

“There has been an unusually high amount of jewellery found and handed in over the last few weeks,” explained Sue.

“Some are quite valuable - one in particular is believed to be worth £400 - and no doubt of sentimental value to the owner.”

Claimants who have lost an item and think it might have been handed in to the station, should ring Sue and give a detailed description of the item.

She is available on 0845 113 5000 (ext 7921 6620).
