KNOWLE fun runners have no time to rest on their laurels!
Event organisers Knowle and Dorridge Lions want everyone who took part in the run to get back out there again, and help boost their next fund raising extravaganza.
The Lions are launching their ninth annual Summer Stroll on Sunday, July 11.
That will coincide with their popular Bikeathon, which is now in its fifth year. Both events will be staged around Packwood National Trust House.
Last year, a tremendous total of 400 cyclists took part in the Bikeathon, and raised a magnificent amount of money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. The Lions want to make an extra special effort this time, as the charity celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Cyclists can take their pick from a series of rides ranging from a leisurely 10 miles, to a more testing 28 mile trek. If cycling isn’t your strong-point – then the Lions Summer Stroll could be just up your street!
Various routes encompassing footpaths, country lanes, and towpaths await walkers, who step out for two miles up to a more challenging eight mile distance.
Strollers will be helping to raise funds for another of the Lions charitable causes, Diabetes UK.
Both events will start and finish at Packwood House where walkers and cyclists can round off the day by enjoying a barbecue and picnic.
Entry to the events is free, but the Lions ask everyone who would like to take part to raise some sponsorship of which 20 per cent of the money will go towards local causes.
Registration for both events should be made on-line at www.KnowleandDorridgeLions.com/fundraising-events.
