BIRMINGHAM & Solihull Bees will play the majority of the their homes games on a Sunday next season.
The move was confirmed by the RFU after the club’s groundshare agreement with Solihull Moors means that Damson Park will be used most Saturday’s by the football club.
The Bees trialled the Sunday fixtures during last season’s relegation playoff campaign and deemed it a “highly successful experiment”.
There will only be two games not played on a Sunday - the home clashes against Moseley and Worcester. These will be played on a Friday night on October 22 and February 18 respectively.
The rugby club’s new era at Damson Park will begin on Sunday September 5 with a home game against Nottingham, which will follow their opening game of the Championship away at Worcester the Saturday before (August 28).
As well as the Championship, the Bees will also compete in the B&I Cup, with Ayr, Rotherham, Doncaster, Pontypridd and Llandovey in Pool D.
