DANCERS, singers and all-round entertainers will be lining up on stage for this year’s Solihull Carnival.
As always, the event will be jam-packed with activities, and eight talented locals (aged between 11-30) will be performing on the BRMB Stage.
The line-up was chosen following a tough audition process.
Those performers who made the biggest impression won the chance to perform on the big day.
Organisers had originally planned to feature six artists at the carnival.
However, because the calibre of entries was so high, the judges eventually plumped for eight.
Helen Halstead, chairman of Solihull Carnival 2009, said: “We had such trouble choosing the final six!
“My team will now have to organise the day’s events to include all eight finalists who will each perform twice at Solihull Carnival – it’s certainly going to be a entertainment packed day!”
As well as the acts who are competing in the Carnival’s Got Talent final, there will be plenty of other attractions.
The Stardust Dance Academy, Hi Bri’s Dance and Solihull Theatretrain are among the local troupes taking part.
There will also be various stalls and a colourful procession.
Solihull Carnival is taking place on June 6 across the town centre and Tudor Grange Park. Events kick off at 11.45am. To find out more about the programme of activities go to www.solihullcarnival.co.uk.
