SOLIHULL Council’s Park Ranger team will be helping staff from John Lewis, based in Touchwood, to plant more than 20 Oak trees which the store has funded to support the Solihull in Bloom Campaign.

Staff will spend the afternoon planting the trees and erecting an information board in a meadow next to Malvern and Brueton Park next Wednesday.

They will also find out more about the park’s landscape and environment from the Local Nature Reserve Officer.

John Lewis were keen to sponsor the tree planting to support Solihull’s successful Britain in Bloom competition entry last year and our entry for this year’s competition.

Solihull gained the overall winner for the city category in the national competition and a Gold in the regional competition for the standards of horticulture and cleanliness.

For more information on how you can adopt a tree, or to find out about the Solihull in Bloom Campaign for 2009 visit www.solihull.gov.uk/solihullinbloom.
