George Townley, aged 72, suffered fatal injuries after falling 13 feet and landing head-first in the dry moat below.

Merlin Attractions, who run the castle, were found guilty of breaching health and safety legislation at Warwick Crown Court.

The company was also ordered to pay costs of £145,000 in relation to the incident in December 2007.
