AS a democrat I am very concerned that it would appear the NHS West Midlands has made a decision on behalf of Solihull Care Trust that there should be procurement of a 'Polyclinic' in Solihull. There does not appear to be a business plan or needs assessment for this action.
Solihull Care Trust can not even decide what it is to provide - they have called it a GP-led health centre, and a walk-in centre. Solihull has a very good general practitioner service both in terms of quality and quantity. Any additional monies going into the new health centre should be used to make the current GP service an excellent world class service.
The Care Trust is not undertaking genuine consultation. There is no consultation on the principle of the proposal, or on the consequences, only on what needs to go into the new health centre. The Care Trust should know this if a detailed needs assessment had been carried out.
Without considerably more information I would urge residents to be cautious about this development.
