OVER 60 children were treated to a traditional fry-up as part of Farmhouse Breakfast Week on Tuesday.

The youngsters from Ferncumbe School in Hatton were delighted when a tractor and trailer arrived at the school gates to take them to breakfast.

Served by local farmers, the children enjoyed a traditional start to the day with a serving of locally produced bacon, egg, sausage, wholemeal bread and milk.

The initiative, supported by the National Farmers’ Union, campaigns for everyone to start the day with a balanced breakfast as part of a healthy and active lifestyle.
