A DRUNK driver has been handed a three year ban at Solihull Magistrates Court.

A DRUNK driver has been handed a three year ban at Solihull Magistrates Court.

Shahid Sadiq, of Halesowen Street, Rowley Regis, was more than twice the legal alcohol limit when his white Citroen Berlingo was pulled over by police in Chelmsley Road on November 28, the court heard.

The 34-year-old was also found to be driving on an expired licence and invalid motor insurance.

Sadiq, who represented himself, admitted the charges and apologised to the court. He said: “I’d had an argument with my wife. I’m sorry.”

He was ordered to pay £295 in fines and court costs and, as it was his second drink driving offence within ten years, was disqualified from driving for three years.
