YOU have to pity the membership secretary of one local club, who must have a nightmare when it comes to remembering names.
The group in question - Solihull Twins Club - welcomes dozens of young siblings to its regular meetings. And there’s real cause for celebration this year, as the group marks its 30th anniversary.
Now the current committee is hoping to track down the trio who set up the club in 1979. Their names - taken from a newspaper article - are Natalie Parry, Linda Larder and Maureen Wright.
Jo Wyatt, who has been a member for two years, said: “We’re holding a summer party in July and we’re hoping to invite the founders - and their twin children - along.
“We’re a really friendly group and we all know it’s difficult to cope with two youngsters, so it’s a chance for people to meet up and share advice. It’s really nice to know that other members understand what you’re talking about.”
Today the club has around 50 members and holds fortnightly meetings at Chapel Fields children’s centre. The group is on the look-out for new recruits and anyone with two children aged three and under (twins or not) can sign up.
