SOLIHULL am-drama group Union Theatre is auditioning for its next big production - The Madness of George III.
Whether you’re a budding star or have simply always wanted to have a go at acting the theatre is looking to cast Alan Bennett’s famous play at evening auditions on April 16 and 18.
The show follows King George III’s later reign and his slow decline into madness as he endured the barbaric medical treatments of the time while struggling in the battle for power with politicians and his scheming son.
Director Mark Firmstone said: “It’s a very clever and witty play.
“If you fancy wandering around in an 18th century wig then come and join us.”
The period piece is this year’s choice for the troupe’s summer show, to be staged outdoors at the Solihull Manor House gardens, from July 3-6.
Auditions begin at 7.30pm and will be held in the Mayflower Room, at Christ Church URC, in Warwick Road, Solihull.
