An unlicensed motorist has admitted causing the death of a pregnant woman by dangerous driving.

Javad Malik, from Yardley, was told that a “very significant” custodial sentence was inevitable after pleading guilty to causing the death of newlywed Ahtia Tabasim by dangerous driving.

The 25-year-old also entered guilty pleas to driving with no licence or insurance, possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis.

Malik, of Yardley Fields Road, was remanded in custody at Birmingham Crown Court and is likely to be sentenced in July.
