A VILLAGE green application for Neville Road was due to go before planning committee this week.

Residents claim to have used the green land off Neville Road for 20 years.

Residents claim to have used the green land off Neville Road for 20 years. In September 2009, locals submitted 89 evidence questionnaires to attempt to get the area protected under Village Green Status.

If approval is granted, it will be the first patch of Solihull land to receive the status in almost a century, protected in perpetuity from development.

The application was recommended for approval by Solihull Council’s officers and councillors were due to make a decision on Wednesday of this week.
