SOLIHULL Council joined forces with the police this week to offer advice to locals on doorstep selling.

SOLIHULL Council joined forces with the police this week to offer advice to locals on doorstep selling.

As part of National Consumer Week, the council’s Trading Standards team have been patrolling streets and talking to traders to ensure they are complying with the law.

Councillor Diana Holl-Allen, cabinet member for safer communities, said: “I’m urging everyone who knows or cares for a vulnerable or elderly person to make sure they are aware of their rights. No one should feel pressured into making a rash buying decision.”

Anyone who believes they may have been approached by a rogue trader should note their details, including vehicle registration numbers and call police on 101 or the Citizens Advice Customer Service on 08454 040506.
