A CHARITY walk and toddle from Heartlands to Solihull Hospital takes place next month to raise funds for the local NHS Trust.

A CHARITY walk and toddle from Heartlands to Solihull Hospital takes place next month to raise funds for the local NHS Trust.

Volunteers are needed to take part in the scenic 6.5-mile sponsored walk along the canal from Heartlands Hospital, in Bordesley Green, to Solihull, or the one-mile ‘toddle’ from Lode Lane on Sunday February 5.

Walkers can then choose exactly where their cash will go to benefit, from over 400 good causes in the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust Charity.

Whether it is a hospital, department or an individual ward at Solihull, Good Hope or Heartlands hospitals and Birmingham Chest Clinic, all the money will be used for the benefit of patients and their relatives.

First to sign up for the sponsored walk was Trust Chairman, Lord Philip Hunt and Chief Executive, Mark Newbold.

Dr Newbold, said: “This is a great opportunity for our staff, patients and their relatives to come together and get involved in fundraising for their local hospitals.

“I hope many others will be able to join us on the day.”
