War is declared on park vandals

VOLUNTEERS have pledged to get tough on vandals in the borough's parks.

VOLUNTEERS have pledged to get tough on vandals in the borough's parks.

The yobs have been targeting Brueton Park local nature reserve -spray painting and uprooting marker posters.

Now the team of volunteers, who have been working to improve the park's woodland, are appealing for information.

Tracey Churchard, head park ranger, said: "This spate of criminal damage has been going on since we started work on the woodland and we fear that the area is being ruined for other people that enjoy the Nature Reserve.

"The volunteers continue to work hard and it's very disappointing to see their efforts go to waste. We urge anyone who has any information about the vandalism, or concerns about the work that is being done at the park to contact us."

If you have any information about the vandalism then call the park ranges on 0121 704 8472.
