Warwickshire Wildlife Trust objects to plans for new housing development in Solihull

PLANS to build a new housing development in Solihull Lodge threaten a valuable wildlife site, conservation bosses have said.

PLANS to build a new housing development in Solihull Lodge threaten a valuable wildlife site, conservation bosses have said.

The Warwickshire Wildlife Trust has submitted its official objection to Solihull Council against plans for 200 homes in Aqueduct Road, a site also prone to flooding.

Part of the land has been designated as a potential Local Wildlife Site (LWS) and the trust therefore believes the development, in its current form, will have a detrimental affect on the site’s habitat.

Richard Wheat, planning and biodiversity officer at the trust said: “The Trust is opposed to any development that will result in the loss or degradation of an important LWS.”
