THE NHS is well known to all politicians to be very dear to our hearts, especially the elderly.
So why on earth does our Health Minister intend to hand over the running of local health services to independent providers who turn out to be private companies?
Solihull Pensioners’ Convention will be active with West Midlands PC and National PC to campaign hard to keep public money for quality health care - not profit for shareholders. We will support NHS Unlimited with letters to the Prime Minister and fight for the eight principles adopted by the British Medical Association. This is too important not to have a public debate and we hope to hear from Solihull Care Trust as we believe the commercialisation of the NHS must stop.
Josie Herbert, chair, Solihull Pensioners’ Convention.
