AT last the reality of exporting all our jobs is becoming our economic downfall, for years many such as me have been warning of this madness, and we have been ridiculed by the politicians who have stood idly by. I have seen company after company lifted and shifted to the far east, our pensions funds plundered to build the factories, and retool the production lines.
Cheap labour was the key, and how our bosses love cheap labour, bigger profits, less legislation, hardly any health and safety and no trade unions, it was the bosses utopia, but now the folly is there for all to see, labour’s not so cheap, and the consumer markets of the West are drying up because people haven’t got any jobs.
Of course with massive home markets, China and India can carry on producing, and the shareholders will still be getting their dividends, well they will until these governments nationalise their factories, and we can’t do anything about it.
The West is paying a high price so the rich could get richer and now our economies are in a state of collapse because the truth is we can’t survive on a beefburger and candy floss service economy, we need to make things, but how? All our factories are gone and our skilled workers sacked.
