Weddings on a shoestring

THEY say your wedding day is the best day of your life - but it can also be one of the most expensive.

THEY say your wedding day is the best day of your life - but it can also be one of the most expensive.

But in a nod to these purse-tightening times the Ramada Solihull Hotel (The George) is offering what it calls Credit Crunch Weddings from £1,000.

Andrew Cole, general manager said: “We realise that people may now be wanting to tie the knot on much more restrained budgets and we are in a perfect position to be able to cater for their needs – we can offer the same levels of service and quality but at a price designed to keep our hotel busy and customers happy.”

The bride and groom can choose from two options - a sit-down meal for 20 followed by a buffet for 40 in the evening, or an evening function for 100 people, including the disco.

Ros Wilson, wedding sales manager, said: “Whilst we still offer our full range of wedding services in traditional surroundings, if people can be flexible on dates we are sure we can tailor something to their budgets and I would be delighted to talk to them.”
