GREEN- fingered Silhillians will be out in force this weekend when Malvern Park and Mell Square in the town centre stage a free gardening event for the whole family.
The gardener’s paradise is set to feature a garden market in Mell Square on both Saturday and Sunday while in Malvern Park on on Saturday May 16 only, over 20 different flower stalls specialising in lavender, cottage gardens, fruit trees and wildflowers along with hardy herbaceous plants, alpine plants and Australian plants will be sure to spark interest.
Gardening experts will also be on hand including Julian Ranson from Notcutts Garden Centre and Chris Canaan of Akamba Easy Exotics - both based in Shirley.
“It’s going to be really fantastic,” said Chris. “We are even expecting some really good weather and we’ve got some exotic animals all the way from Kenya and loads of exotic plants. And I will be giving a talk on how to keep an easy garden. You have got to come - you’ll love it!”

Parking is free at Solihull School on Warwick Road and the event runs from 11am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, May 16/17.
