Well done Pat

AS one of the two councillors for St Alphege who spoke against the proposed development at the Birmingham and Solihull Rugby Club, I hope you will allow me the opportunity of responding to the letter submitted by Tony Moir.

AS one of the two councillors for St Alphege who spoke against the proposed development at the Birmingham and Solihull Rugby Club, I hope you will allow me the opportunity of responding to the letter submitted by Tony Moir.

His comments about Pat Montague are unfortunate in the extreme, because they are inaccurate.

Pat has led the Sharmans Cross Action Group with enthusiasm, determination and a complete knowledge of every piece of this planning application.

He understood the development. He appreciated the financial situation of the club. With tact and diplomacy he went professionally about getting answers to the questions he raised.

Thanks in no small part to his leadership the Planning Committee unanimously rejected the application. That is how local democracy works.

Coun Joe Tildesley, St Alphege Ward.
