THERE were smiles all round this week when staff at a local playgroup were presented with a £500 donation.

Solihull Children’s Special Needs Association (SCSNA) received the money from staff at the Shirley branch of building society the West Brom.

The donation will be used to help fund weekly swimming trips for the children to the nearby Reynalds Cross School.

SCSNA is a registered charity for pre-school children with special needs offering services three days a week during term times.

Its centre on Green Lane, Shirley, has a well-equipped playroom and soft play area as well as a sensory room.

Playgroup organiser Carmel Ward said: “We are a voluntary organisation and rely on the loyalty of our staff and volunteers, as well as the generosity of local companies such as the West Brom.

“We would like to thank them for their kind donation.”
