A WOMAN was killed in a two-vehicle smash in Chelmsley Wood on Tuesday evening at 6pm.
The collision, between a lorry and a silver BMW, happened on the junction of Chester Road and Coleshill Heath Road during the rush-hour.
The 28-year-old woman, who had been a passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
Police had not released her name as the Solihull News went to press, but confirmed she was from Stechford, Birmingham.
The car driver, a 30-year-old man, was taken to Heartlands Hospital. He is described as in a critical, but stable, condition.
The lorry-driver was not injured in the crash.
