Work on A45 closes Showell Lane in Meriden for six months

Showell Lane will be closed to all traffic from 9:00am on Monday 16 August 2010 to 5:00pm on Friday 25 February 2011, Solihull Council has announced.

SHOWELL Lane will be closed to all traffic from 9am this Monday, August 16 2010 to 5pm on Friday, February 25, 2011, Solihull Council has announced.

This closure is needed to allow for essential strengthening and repair works to the bridge over the A45 and it will affect Showell Lane between its junction with the B4102 Birmingham Road and the A45 eastbound (Coventry) slip-road. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

Whilst the works are being undertaken, some disruption and delays are expected on the A45 as lane restrictions and/or contraflow will be in force for periods while the works take place.

During the works, access to frontages will be maintained although there will be no access over the bridge.

The 900 and 82 bus services, towards Coventry, will be re-routed during the works.

900 service: The nearest bus stop to Showell Lane will be on Birmingham Road between Fillongley Road and Maxstoke Lane, west of Meriden Green.

82 service: The nearest bus stop will be at the junction between Showell Lane and the B4102 Birmingham Road, Millison’s Wood.
