SOLIHULL Council is appealing to mums, dads, grandparents and any family members who may know a young person, aged 16 – 24, who is currently looking for a job to get involved in Work Clubs.
Some young people with qualifications and experience are finding it difficult to get a job at the moment and those with limited experience and qualifications are finding it even harder.
Now the borough’s employment and skills team wants to work with all unemployed young people living in Solihull to help them progress into their chosen careers.
The team works with training providers and employers to offer local vacancies for local people, but wants to see more young people accessing these opportunities.
To help young job seekers, Work Clubs have been established. These are a good place to start preparing for employment or training and are conveniently based at community locations across the borough.
Featuring tailored workshops, they aim to help young residents with every aspect of looking for a job – from application forms to interview techniques as well as job vacancies.

l Shirley Library Work Club, Church Road, Shirley, B90 2AX, which runs every first and third Monday of each month from 10am to 12 noon.
